The Latest installment of Ubuntu – Cosmic Cuttlefish – 18.10 is released and available for download.
Ubuntu 18.10 code named ‘Cosmic Cuttlefish’ is released after 6 months of development efforts. The latest release of Ubuntu comes with some major feature updates and latest software. This release is a short term release and would be receiving updates and security fixes till July 2019.

What’s New in Ubuntu 18.10
Installation
Ubuntu 18.10 uses Zstandard lossless compression algorithm which makes installation faster than earlier releases. Startup speed of pre-installed snap apps also improved.
Kernel
Ubuntu 18.10 powered by latest stable Linux Kernel version 4.18. Kernel 4.18 comes with AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphics processor support, improved Thunderbolt support amongst many improvements.
Theme & Icon
Ubuntu 18.10 comes with a shiny Theme named ‘Yaru’ and icon set ‘suru’. This is a welcome change with a fresh look and feel for Ubuntu – which – always had Ambience/Radiance themes for default.

GNOME 3.30
The latest GNOME 3.30 powering Ubuntu 18.10 from behind. GNOME 3.30 is an iconic release and it improved a lot in terms of latest softwares and usability. GNOME 3.30 comes with redesigned Settings app with dedicated panel for Thunderbolt devices, dynamic hardware panels and many more.
