Take-a-break App actually forces you to take a break in Ubuntu.

Overview

After a recent discussion in an AskUbuntu forum, a new app has been developed which will force user to take a break. The App has basic features and have a nice and simple GUI.

Features

  • Ability to start after login
  • Custom break and work time duration
  • Smart notification (when break time is approaching)
  • Break effects – Dim screens etc
  • Take a Break - Effects

    How to Install

    This app is available in ppa and to install this app in Ubuntu, Mint run below commands from terminal and provide password when prompted.

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vlijm/takeabreak
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install takeabreak
    

    After installation, you can find it under application/search in dash.
