Whisker Menu which is an alternative application launcher to Xfce desktop, released version 2.0.0 recently.
Whisker menu lists the programs in your desktop which you have marked as favorite. Usability of this application is great with top level categories etc. It keeps tracks of last ten applications which you have used and you can launch it from the menu itself.
UI comes with drag/drop features with your favorite application. It also have a search feature which gives you list of programs available based on generic keywords. E.g. by typing ‘browser’ in the search bar, it would show you list of browser available in your desktop.
Latest version not yet available in official PPA, however you can grab the source using below link.
