This new GNOME Shell extension provides you to change color of your GNOME desktop – Amber, Green, Cyan, Sepia and Black/White.
We all know the power of GNOME extensions which helps to customize our desktop in any way we want. There are thousands of GNOME extensions available with different need and purpose.
Here’s an extension named Tint All which provides a quick option to change your GNOME desktop to below colors.
- Amber
- Green
- Cyan
- Sepia
- Gray-scale
Well, some users might need to have these due to certain reasons – you may be recording a video which you want in black and white only, you might be a color sensitive person etc.
This cool extension, once installed in GNOME (tried in Ubuntu 18.10, Ubuntu 18.04), provides a icon in top bar which you can click and circle through the colors.

How to Install
This is only application for GNOME desktop environments only (preferable 3.18+).
Before you install, make sure you have enabled GNOME Shell extensions.

Or follow below steps:
- Enable GNOME shell extension for your preferred browser (link below):
Chrome, Chromium, Google Chrome, Vivaldi
- Open terminal and run below commands (for Ubuntu and derivatives).
sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell
- Open Tint All home page and click on the below ON/OFF button to enable.
- Click install on the next confirmation prompt.
- After installation is finished, you can see a small icon at the top bar.
Click on the icon to circle through the available color options.
